Good Luck in College
The second project I did for my MEDIA 363 class also with Ivan. The conception of the card game as a way to improve on our previous project and as a sort of spiritual successor to our previous project. For this second card game, we agreed to have a variety of cards that are both good and bad luck so not every option can be one side of a coin, and to make the prompts and outcomes be related to a college setting. So, what we did first to improve on the game is to differentiate the card prompts and the card options with 3 symbols, 2 pairs of dice for the prompts, a 4 leaf clover for the good options, and a broken for the bad options. Instead of using the same token mechanic, we went for a RNG mechanic based on dice rolls, where 1 is super unlucky, 2-3 is unlucky, 4-5 is lucky, and 6 is super lucky. Finally, we also decided to make it so that there's 4 options that the players can gain points. The first is whoever's card was voted the luckiest card, the second is the funniest card, third is the least lucky option, and fourth is the least amount of votes, but they'll gain half a token. A few weeks later, we finished the game and Ivan submitted the project.
